A cracker is an application that brute-forces a certain site, application or login screen.
Brute-forcing means that you are trying to guess the password. Ok, you guys may think this is stupid, but Brute-forcers are made to be quick, so guessing goes fast.
Crackers could crack games, login to administrator on XP or even a protected file with a password. There are a lot of crackers around the website.


Why do people use a cracker?
A cracker is actually made to recover your account back. You type in your username, you type in the cracker possible passwords and it'll guess them one by one.
Although, crackers are misused by crackers or hackers and they try to guess other people's accounts. Most of the time crackers are used for this.


How do I protect myself from crackers?
Well, that's the trick. If you try to guess a password, it's not just a random password. You should base yourself on studies or on practical information. People are vulnerable to cracking if their password isn't safe enough. 50% of the internet users aren't using a safe passwords. Typical passwords are "abc123", "qwerty", "123456". These passwords are used by people because you can easily remind them! Well, then bad idea because then you're vulnerable to it. You should protect yourselves by using a secure password like "Ilikebigbuts3456256".
